Changing/Canceling an Order

There are no refunds on items purchased online. Once you send through your order, it is considered placed. The only exception is if a product has been discontinued or if we no longer carry it. If the order has not been shipped, we can offer you an exchange or store credit.

Return Policy

If you are not satisfied with the product(s) (or if you receive a damaged or incorrect product), you may return the item to us in its original condition within 14 days of receipt of your shipment for an exchange or store credit. Shipping costs are nonrefundable unless the return is a result of our error.

Custom orders cannot be exchanged or returned. Please note details within each item's description under availability. This includes personalization of any kind or anything not offered in our boutique by way of design, color, size, etc.

All returned merchandise to be exchanged must be unwashed, unworn, and unused. The item must be in its "new" condition. Any clearance, sale, personalized, custom, or perishable orders will not be accepted for return or exchange.

Due to health regulations, no exchanges can be accept on carriers or beds. We apologize for the inconvenience. Additionally, customers are still responsible for the original shipping and return shipping costs. Customers are responsible for all shipping costs!

If you are issued store credit, a certificate will be emailed to you with the valid amount and an ID# that will be required for future online purchases. If you misplace this certificate and/or ID#, we are not able issue a duplicate. So please treat the certificate as if it were cash. You will need to reply to the email in order for us to validate that you have received the credit and activate your ID# within our system. We want you to be happy with your purchase and will make every effort to assist you in finding the right item to meet your needs.

Please do not purchase online but e-mail or call us at 773.857.5680 with the item(s) you wish to purchase. Please note that the item you are exchanging for must be of equal or higher value to your credit.

This return policy applies to all orders shipped within the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. All orders shipped to other international locations are final.
Follow the procedures below for an exchange:

1.   Email us at sales@thesophisticatedcat.com or call us at 773.857.5680. We will provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number:

2.   Repack the item securely in its original packaging along with the invoice and mail the item back to the address that we provide you. Items without a valid RMA number will not be accepted. We recommend that you return the item via an insured carrier (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS) and that you insure the item for its full value. Postage or courier fees for return shipments must be prepaid. We will provide you with a prepaid return label if the return is a result of our error.

Shipping 

We ship most items via UPS Ground, FedEx, DHL & USPS. Shipping & handling charges are based on the total amount of your order.  Larger items may include extra shipping surcharges for dimensions and oversize weights which are added onto the total shipping charges.  If shipping charges will be more than what was calculated during checkout, we will contact you via e-mail. Tracking information (if available) will be sent via email. Details will be on email confirmation of order being shipped. 

We do not ship to P.O Box addresses.

Items that are 15lbs and over in weight may have additional shipping charges. Additional charges will be added.

This chart provides only an estimated cost of shipping. Due to the high costs of shipping international, The Sophisticated Cat will charge the exact amount that the shipping will cost. If shipping will cost more than the original shipping charge, we will contact you with the exact amount of shipping. The extra shipping must be paid BEFORE the order will ship! All international orders are shipped via the US Postal Service. We cannot guarantee the shipping times for international orders as custom's can hold up a shipment. International Orders can take up to 8 weeks or more to arrive. The Sophisticated Cat is not responsible for any extra custom duties or fees incurred by the buyer's country. They are the buyer's responsibility.

Product/Stock Availablity

For delivery times, please check the availability shown on the product(s) you purchase. Estimated shipping times are listed for each product on the web site. In stock inventory will ship within 7 - 10 business days. These are only estimates!  In order to offer our customers a wider selection of merchandise, many of our items are not in stock and are shipped directly from a number of different suppliers and may arrive in several different packages. Because of this, items ordered together may arrive in many different boxes. As a result, some items may arrive later than the estimated shipping times stated on the web site. We make every effort to ship orders out as soon as possible. Unfortunately these dates do sometimes get moved back because of production, shipping, and other issues, so we cannot guarantee any in-stock dates. Please allow additional delivery time for personalized or custom-made items.

The Sophisticated Cat reserves the right to change any of these policies at any time, without notice.
